Sam Norman

Sam Norman is an agricultural professional currently residing in New Kent County, Virginia, with her husband Brian and their son Walter.

Sam currently serves as the operations manager and AgPAC administrator in the Governmental Relations Department at Virginia Farm Bureau. This role involves managing day-to-day operations of the department and overseeing the agricultural political action committee.

Originally from Hereford, Maryland, Sam's family was involved in hay production and breeding draft horses. This early exposure to agriculture and animal husbandry influenced Sam's future educational and career choices.

Sam’s passion for agriculture led her to Virginia Tech, where she fell in love with Virginia’s mountains. She earned a bachelor’s degree in animal and poultry sciences and a master’s in agricultural and applied economics.

Maintaining strong ties to rural traditions, Sam enjoys trail riding on mules with her family and driving their draft horse on country roads.

Reflecting on her selection for the VALOR program, Sam states: "I am honored to be a part of the lucky number VII Class of VALOR. I look forward to joining forces with my classmates to combine practical farming experiences with professional advocacy for the agricultural community."
