Mackenzie Gunn

Mackenzie is the Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent in Amelia County, Virginia. She joined Virginia Cooperative Extension after completing her M.S. at Mississippi State University and working in the agriculture and natural resources sector for two years. In her current role, Mackenzie works provides research-based information for farmers, landowners, homeowners, and youth in the county.

Originally from Vermont, Mackenzie received her B.S. from the University of New Hampshire in Marine Biology and Ecogastronomy and has spent time living both abroad and in many states along the Eastern side of the U.S. While Mackenzie always had a strong passion for animals growing up, she found her love for agriculture and food production during her time in college, which led her to a master's degree in aquatic disease in farm raised catfish, and time spent as a research assistant studying disease in row crops. Outside of the office, Mackenzie spends time with her horses and on the small farm her and her husband, Conner, began in 2023 in Amelia, Virginia.
