Katie Reames

Katie (Peacock) Reames grew up on her neighbor’s dairy farm in Stephens City, Virginia, and has had a heart for Dairy ever since.

She attended Virginia Tech, with a major in Dairy Science, where she was very active in the Dairy Club, serving in various leadership roles, including President.

She was the Little All American Grand Champion and Champion Fitter, and a member of the winning Dairy Challenge Team.  Katie was a member of the Dairy Judging Team, and was the High Individual in Jerseys at the North American International Livestock Exposition Intercollegiate Judging Contest.

After graduation in 2003, Katie worked for Blue Seal Feeds in Watertown, New York as a Dairy Nutrition Representative.  In 2004, she started with Rockingham Milling as the Nutritionist and Sales Manager.  She served as the Virginia Purebred Dairy Cattle Show Superintendent for several years.

In 2007, Katie began teaching Agriculture Education, and served as the FFA Advisor at Culpeper County Public Schools.  In 2012, Katie earned her Master’s Degree from Virginia Tech.

Katie has served on the FFA Board of Directors, as the Virginia Association of Agricultural Educators (VAAE) Central Area Vice President and President, and as the Central Area Representative for the FFA Advisory Council.  She was named the VAAE Teacher of the Year for 2015 and the Virginia Association of Career and Technical Educators Teacher of the Year in 2016.  Recently Katie was presented with a Commending Resolution for the Virginia General Assembly for all of her work with youth and in the agriculture industry. During her time teaching, Katie has continued with independent livestock nutrition.

Currently Katie is the Director of Nutrition, Sales, and Marketing for CFC Farm & Home Center based in Culpeper, Virginia.  She joined the company in 2016 and has greatly enjoyed her time helping producers find profitable solutions for their feeding programs. 

Katie also serves on the Culpeper County Farm Bureau Board as well as the Culpeper County Planning Commission. 

In 2006, Katie and her husband were married, and in 2011, they welcomed their son, who is, of course, an active part of their small commercial cow/calf operation.
