Emily Wong
Emily is the Associate Director of Major Gifts, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Virginia Cooperative Extension at Virginia Tech. She joined the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in March 2018 as an Associate Director of Major Gifts. Her responsibilities include strengthening the college’s fundraising efforts in support of endowments, current operations, and other capital purposes with an emphasis on cultivating and stewarding major gifts for both the college and Virginia Cooperative Extension.
Emily earned a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in resource management with a focus on consumer studies. Upon completing her undergraduate degree, she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala, partnering with Junior Achievement on small-business development. After completing her service, Emily continued her education, earning a master’s in business administration from Radford University.
Prior to her position in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Emily worked in various roles in higher education, including college admissions and higher education readiness tools. Her most recent position was as a development officer for Virginia Tech’s College of Science.
