Kari Sponaugle

Kari Sponaugle is the Extension 4-H Youth Development Agent for Highland and Bath Counties. Growing up in Highland and being a product of the Highland 4-H program, from helping to raise market lamb projects on her grandfather’s farm to participating in Share-the-Fun and Presentation contests as well as being tapped a Virginia 4-H All-Star, the job seemed the perfect fit. Kari has her B.S. degree from Ferrum College and a M.S. in Agricultural Leadership and Community Education from Virginia Tech. Kari and husband Michael are co-owners of Church Hill Produce in Highland County, established in 2011. From U-Pick strawberries to commercial distribution of squash, broccoli and brussels sprouts, their farm supplies seasonal local produce to grocery stores across Virginia. Kari & Michael, with sons Jasper and Clu, live on the Sponaugle family farm which raises tom turkeys for Virginia Poultry Growers Cooperative and 200 Angus-cross cattle.
