Morgan Slaven Messer

 

Morgan Slaven is a sixth generation member of her family’s beef cattle operation in Weyers Cave.  After a year of service as the 2009-2010 State FFA President, she attended Virginia Tech and graduated in 2014 with a double major in agricultural sciences and communication.  Morgan has a passion for agricultural education and leadership development, putting those skills to use as a staff member at the Virginia FFA Association and the American Farm Bureau Federation before joining the Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom team as a development associate in March 2016.  Her role with AITC includes community outreach, promoting program success and raising funds to support the organization’s mission of connecting children to agriculture.  In her free time, Morgan enjoys coaching her local 4-H stockman’s team, spending time with her family and international travel.
