M. James Faison
President, Milton's Local
James graduated from Harvard University in 2005 with an A.B. in Government and a citation in Spanish, and received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2009. After law school, he practiced international transactional law for the law firm of White & Case LLP (“W&C”). He specialized in asset finance and mergers and acquisitions.
In August of 2011, James left W&C to focus exclusively on entrepreneurship. Drawing from his experiences as a 4th generation farmer, he became actively involved in sustainable agriculture. Through his experiences with sustainable agriculture, he became aware of the tremendous opportunity that the local food movement has afforded producers and purchases to leverage technology to create a sustainable food ecosystem that is characterized by providing high quality, healthy food, at a fair price. James founded Milton's Local in November of 2011 with the vision of creating a company that is guided by those values.
